Up at The O2’s golden hour climb is back for two more Friday nights this August, with a live saxophonist, skyline views over Canary Wharf, and a drink waiting at the summit.
Up at The O2 is bringing back its Summer Sessions climb for two remaining Friday nights this August, timed to hit the roof right as the sun goes down over the Thames.

Climbers start at base camp before a guided ascent over The O2’s iconic roof, 52 metres up, with panoramic views across the city, a live saxophonist playing through a set of classic summertime tunes, and a drink included at the top, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold and Pepsi Max, with non-alcoholic options also available.
When you can still catch it
Summer Sessions ran across four Fridays this year, 17 and 24 July, then 14 and 21 August, with the July dates now behind us. Two nights remain: Friday 14 August and Friday 21 August, with climbs departing at 7pm, 7.30pm and 8pm on each night, timed for golden hour.
Tickets cost £45 per person and include extended time on the roof, so there’s a genuine window to take in the view and get proper photos of the capital from height rather than being rushed back down. O2 and Virgin Media customers get 20% off through Priority.
Only 25 spaces are available per climb, so this isn’t one to leave until the day, book ahead through the Up at The O2 website. It’s suitable for ages 18 and up.
Make a night of it
The O2 has more than 30 bars and restaurants on site, from Gordon Ramsay Street Burger and KFC to a Wetherspoon with its own beer garden, plus Cineworld, BOOM Battle Bar (axe throwing, darts, mini golf), and interactive football at TOCA Social if you want to extend the evening beyond the climb itself.
There’s also Outlet Shopping at The O2, London’s best-performing outlet, with up to 70% off at over 60 brands including adidas, kate spade new york, Nike and the newly opened Søstrene Grene. The O2 is around 15 minutes from central London by tube, road or boat.
The London x London Take: golden hour on top of The O2 is one of the better sunset views in London full stop, and the live sax makes this particular climb worth picking over the standard daytime or twilight slots if the date works for you. With just 25 spots a climb and only two Fridays left, this is one to book rather than plan around.
