Leadenhall Live: Talks, Music and Culture Take Over the Cheesegrater This Summer

Leadenhall Street London

A new free event series kicks off on the 1st July, transforming one of London’s most iconic skyscrapers into a public stage for creativity, curiosity and conversation.

There’s a new reason to head to the City this summer — and it’s got nothing to do with offices.

Launching on 1st July, Leadenhall Live is a brand-new event series taking over the soaring glass galleria beneath The Leadenhall Building (aka The Cheesegrater), bringing an unexpected mix of big-name speakers, live music, workshops and performances right into the heart of the City.

For the first time ever, one of London’s landmark office buildings is turning into a cultural hub and it’s free to attend.

Across more than a dozen events running throughout the week, you’ll find a line-up that spans everything from creativity and climate to comedy and AI. Expect appearances from Jamie Laing, AI expert Dr Daniel Hulme, journalist and housing rights advocate Vicky Spratt, and comedian Athena Kugblenu, alongside jazz sets from Isobel Gathercole and live electronic soundscapes by Michael Sebastian, fresh from supporting Four Tet and Jamie xx at Ally Pally.

Workshops will cover everything from ADHD awareness to personal storytelling and guided meditation: all designed to slot seamlessly into your working day or lunch hour. Events generally wrap up by 7pm, making this an easy after-work detour if you’re nearby (or even if you’re not).

It’s backed by the Eastern City BID, with programming curated by Savills in collaboration with Ch!lled Agency, and marks a shift in how flagship City buildings are redefining what it means to be part of the local community, not just for the people working there, but for the whole city.

The London x London Take

From rooftop restaurants to riverside jazz, London’s finally leaning into weekday culture. Leadenhall Live feels like a smart, generous addition: well curated, genuinely interesting, and open to all. Even if you’ve never set foot inside the Cheesegrater before, this is your excuse.
