Croydon’s award-winning rooftop beach returns this August, and it’s bigger, brighter and bolder than ever.
No flights, no passport, no stress. Just a rooftop, a cocktail, and a whole lot of sand.
From 1 – 31st August, Costa del Croydon is back, transforming the rooftop of Centrale into a full-blown urban beach complete with deckchairs, splash zones, mini go-karts, live entertainment and a daily programme of summer activities. Whether you’re looking for a family day out or a sundown session with drinks and games, this is London’s most unexpected pop-up beach and entry is free.
Last year’s edition drew over 30,000 visitors, and 2025 is going even bigger. Alongside returning favourites like trampolines and pier-style games, this year introduces a new toddler paddling zone, a dedicated quiet space for when you want to escape the buzz, and a full refresh of food and drink vendors (to be revealed soon).
Expect everything from classic seaside bites to international flavours — ideal for refuelling between hook-a-duck and giant Jenga.
The event runs seven days a week, split into two sessions daily: 11:30am – 3:00pm and 3:30pm – 7:00pm. Entry is free, with bookable tickets released weekly and walk-ins welcome.
Community is at the heart of the experience. Every Tuesday, local groups and performers will take over the beach for Community Days in collaboration with Croydon Voluntary Action. And because this is still Britain, if it rains, key activities move indoors — no wellies required.
