Sipsmith is opening its Chiswick distillery after dark for a supper club among the copper stills

Sipper Club launches tomorrow evening at the Sipsmith Distillery in Chiswick, with MasterChef’s Giuseppe Trezza cooking a three-course gin-paired menu for 28 guests surrounded by the stills that helped revive London gin.

There are supper clubs and there are settings. Sipsmith’s Sipper Club, which launches tomorrow evening and has a second date on 26 August, is firmly in the second category: dinner served in the heart of the Chiswick distillery, surrounded by the copper stills that helped spark London’s modern gin revival, with a MasterChef contestant cooking your food and four gin cocktails to work through by the time you reach dessert.

The Sipsmith Distillery on Cranbrook Road is not a place most Londoners have been inside. Founded in 2009 by Fairfax Hall, Sam Galsworthy and master distiller Jared Brown, it housed the first copper pot still licensed in London since 1820: a still named Prudence, now joined by Patience and Constance. The distillery is compact, warm, copper-gleaming and genuinely atmospheric. Being let in after hours for dinner is the kind of thing that earns the word exclusive without making it sound like marketing.

The chef

Giuseppe Trezza

Giuseppe Trezza is Roman-trained, currently Head of the Event Kitchen at The Ned, and appearing on MasterChef: The Professionals 2026. He describes his cooking as eclectic and bold, modern in expression but rooted in Mediterranean tradition, with his Italian soul visible in everything he makes. He learned to cook at five watching his grandmother roll fresh pasta. He’s also the chef behind a world-record-breaking tiramisu, which tells you something about his instinct for combining precision with spectacle.

His menu for Sipper Club has been designed around Sipsmith gin in all its forms, with each course paired to a specific cocktail and each drink presented with its own story. This is not incidental: the storytelling element is built into the whole evening.

The evening

Guests arrive at the distillery door from 7pm and are greeted with a welcome cocktail poured from Sipsmith’s gin bus, a converted vintage vehicle that is exactly as charming as it sounds. From there, the copper stills are revealed as the backdrop for an elegantly set dinner table. The Sipsmith team host the evening with stories about the distillery and the spirits, Giuseppe introduces each course, and there’s a hands-on cocktail-making moment midway through. Everyone goes home with a Sipsmith gift bag.

Twenty-eight guests per evening. Three hours. Four gin cocktails. One distillery that has been quietly making some of the best gin in London for 17 years.

The London x London Take: This is the kind of experience that’s worth having once. The setting is genuinely out of the ordinary, the chef is doing something interesting, and £90 all-in for a three-course dinner with four cocktails, distillery access and a masterclass is not unreasonable for what it is. The first date is tomorrow. There will not be many tickets left.
