London’s leading queer DIY dance music festival takes over Southwark Park on Sunday 30 August, spread across five stages and dozens of acts.
Body Movements started life as a DIY gathering in Hackney Wick and has since grown into what organisers call London’s leading celebration of queer and trans club culture, and quite possibly the world’s. This year’s edition runs across five stages, Mother, The Strap, Snatch, Hot Mess and Glory Hole, doors at midday, music until around 10.30pm.
Who’s playing
The lineup spans house, techno, ballroom, breaks, hyperpop and experimental club sounds. Romy, Eris Drew & Octo Octa, and a back-to-back set from festival co-founder Saoirse and Shanti Celeste headline Mother, the festival’s main stage.
Elsewhere, BASHKKA brings ballroom into conversation with SWANA sound, MCR-T delivers high-speed ghettotech, and Hannah Holland and Jaye Ward hold down harder-edged 4/4. Babymorocco, HEZEN and Six Sex push into pop, chanson and reggaeton respectively, each pulled apart and rebuilt for the dancefloor.
Horse Meat Disco and House Gospel Choir joined the bill more recently, both making their Body Movements debut this year, alongside earlier-announced names Blasha & Allatt, FAFF, Roza Terenzi, Marie Malarie and GIDEÖN.
The crews keeping it running
Beyond the music, Body Movements has always leaned on the crews who sustain queer nightlife the rest of the year. Nineteen collectives take over stages and corners of the site in 2026, including Dalston Superstore, Little Gay Brother, Daytimers, Meat Free and Queer House Party.
Jay Jay Revlon runs a vogue masterclass on the day, and the Fancy a Mooch queer market returns too, with more programming still to be confirmed.
A festival that gives back
Every ticket includes a donation to the Body Movements Community Fund, which has raised more than £53,000 to date for causes including London Trans+ Pride, Stonewall Housing, Gendered Intelligence and Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
The festival also holds back community tickets for anyone unemployed or on a low wage, runs an open student ticket scheme, and offers a “Pay It Forward” option that funds someone else’s ticket alongside your own. Residents living directly on the north side of Southwark Park can also apply for free tickets via ballot.
The London x London Take: the lineup alone would justify a ticket, but the ticketing structure is the part worth knowing about even if you’re not going, a festival this size still holding space for people who couldn’t otherwise afford to be there is genuinely rare. Tickets have already gone through more than one sell-out and restock this year, so don’t leave it too late if you want in.
