alto by San Carlo, the rooftop restaurant on top of Selfridges, is teaming up with Cotton Beach Club Ibiza for an exclusive two-date summer series on Saturday 29 August and Saturday 26 September, bringing the beach club’s Mediterranean menu, live entertainment and sunset energy to the London skyline, with reservations running from 4pm into the night.
It’s a pairing of two names that have each built a reputation around a very specific kind of escapism, just in different settings. Alto has spent the summer leaning into La Dolce Vita, the Mediterranean-inspired season that’s seen a sprawling installation of bougainvillea and hanging lemons trail across its rooftop and entrance since July. Cotton Beach Club Ibiza, meanwhile, is the all-white, Mediterranean-view destination in Cala Tarida on the island’s southwest coast that’s spent years defining what a contemporary Ibiza beach club looks like. For two Saturdays this summer, the two are sharing a menu, a dancefloor and a rooftop 400ft above Oxford Street.
A joint menu built for the occasion
The menu was created specifically for the collaboration, pairing alto’s contemporary Italian cooking with signature dishes pulled straight from Cotton Beach Club’s own kitchen. From alto: red prawn tartare with burrata, lemon and pea shoots; pappardelle with veal ragù and summer black truffle; and tagliolini with lemon and caviar. From Cotton Beach: John Dory with a homemade Canary Island sauce, Hierbas Ibicencas sea bass baked in salt, Tom Kha saffron mussels, and sirloin with chimichurri. Guests can also order from alto’s regular menu alongside the collaboration dishes throughout the evening.

A roaming caviar belt, and a cannoli cart to finish
Beyond the main menu, a roaming caviar belt will move through the restaurant across both evenings, serving Italian sturgeon caviar with blinis table-side. To finish, there’s a trio of Mediterranean-inspired dolci – lemon sorbet, classic tiramisu and crema catalana – or the roaming cannoli bar, best paired with a Sgroppino. On the drinks side, expect Riviera-inspired cocktails and limited-edition table-side serves of rosé and Champagne, poured over ice.

Live sets and a late-night switch
Cotton Beach Club’s own residents travel over for both dates, with live DJ sets, saxophone performances and percussion artists recreating the Balearic energy of one of the beach club’s Ibiza sunset sessions. Once dinner service winds down, the evening shifts to the bar area, where the atmosphere is billed to evolve into a later, club-adjacent setting – so there’s little pressure to rush off after dessert.

The London x London Take: this is a genuinely limited window – two Saturdays, and that’s it – so it’s worth booking as soon as a date works rather than waiting to see how the first one goes. What makes it more interesting than a typical guest-chef night is that it isn’t really a takeover of alto’s kitchen by outside chefs; it’s two established hospitality names each bringing their own signature dishes to the same table, alongside entertainment built to match. Given alto’s rooftop setting is already doing a lot of the Mediterranean-summer heavy lifting with its own installation, adding Cotton Beach Club’s Ibiza energy on top feels like a natural fit rather than a stretch.
