Padel has been threatening to become London’s dominant after-work sport for a couple of years now, and at this point it’s probably safe to say it has. Urban Greens, the chef-driven salad chain with six London sites, is leaning into that momentum with a summer series at Padium’s Canary Wharf courts across four Saturdays in August.
The format is straightforward: 24 guests, friendly play across Centre Court and additional indoor courts, expert coaching on hand for anyone who needs it, a live DJ and a freshly prepared Urban Greens salad included in the ticket. Complimentary drinks from brand partners are also in the mix, and there are promised surprise experiences across the series, which is a low-commitment way of saying there’s more to come.
It’s designed for all abilities, so don’t let an uncertain backhand put you off. At £30 a ticket and 90 minutes a session, it’s a reasonable proposition for a summer Saturday afternoon that goes slightly further than just booking a court.
